Ruth Jeanete Arévalo Arévalo

Associate professor at the Universidad de Playa Ancha, Chile. Researcher at IESED-Chile.

Researcher in higher education, mainly on student engagement, leadership and educational management. She has taken part in research projects leading community engagement initiatives on strengthening teacher professional development in technical and vocational secondary education in the Valparaíso region.

She has served as a peer reviewer for Chile’s National Accreditation Commission (CNA-Chile) and for the National Agency for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Higher Education (ANEAES, Paraguay), and has carried out consultancy and technical advisory work on setting up Local Public Education Services such as the one in Valparaíso.

In advanced training, she has sat on the academic councils of postgraduate programmes at the Universidad de Playa Ancha, among them the Doctorate in Education, and belongs to the academic core of the Master’s in Management and Leadership of Educational Organisations. She has taught at undergraduate and postgraduate level and supervised master’s and doctoral theses in leadership and educational management.

She is currently Academic Coordinator of the Master’s in Management and Leadership of Educational Organisations.

She holds a doctorate in Teaching Staff, Curriculum and Educational Institutions from the Universidad de Granada (Spain), and is an early childhood educator with a specialisation in community development from the Universidad de Playa Ancha.
