Doctoral candidate
Victor Matheus Portela Ribeiro
University management professional and doctoral candidate in Public Organisation Management, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), Brazil.
Researcher in higher education, in institutional management and evaluation, with a particular interest in the use of data and evidence for decision-making. His work focuses on graduates and on how information about their trajectories and contributions is brought into institutional and regulatory processes. He approaches these topics from a comparative perspective, with attention to the Southern Cone, relations between Latin America and Europe, and regional integration processes.
His doctoral thesis examines the governance and institutional use of graduate data as a source of evidence for the management, evaluation and improvement of higher education. As an applied outcome, he is developing an institutional model to strengthen the governance and strategic use of these data in public higher education institutions.
His research has an international scope, with experience at the Universidad de Sevilla (Spain), the Universidad de Playa Ancha (Chile) and the Universidade do Porto (Portugal), the latter through a doctoral research stay funded by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), linked to the Faculdade de Economia e Gestão da Universidade do Porto (FEP) and to the Centro de Investigação de Políticas do Ensino Superior (CIPES). This path allows him to compare regulatory frameworks, institutional arrangements and graduate tracking practices across different contexts. He also takes part in academic activities of IESED-Chile and in initiatives for cooperation and the internationalisation of higher education research.
His career combines research and university management at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), around institutional processes of management, evaluation and the use of information.
Doctoral candidate in Management of Public Organisations at UFSM, in the research line Tools for the Evaluation and Control of Public Management. He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and a degree in International Relations.
