Quality assurance experiences in higher education in Quebec and Chile

An exchange of experiences between Quebec and Chile on quality assurance, resulting in two colloquia and a book.

Coordinators: María Jacqueline Rojas Ríos, IESED-Chile / Universidad de Playa Ancha, and Fernando Daniels, OUI, Canada.

Funding: Quebec Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie. Period: 2022 to 2023.

The project sought to deepen knowledge and exchange experiences between Quebec and Chile on quality assurance in higher education. A first stage identified higher education institutions with experience in the field and gathered good practices. A study then characterised the systems in use and identified their success factors.

Its outputs were a technical report on the models and experiences of Quebec and Chile, together with the publication of case studies of the good practices identified. The results were disseminated through two activities: an inter-American online colloquium for teaching staff and researchers, and an in-person Quebec-Chile colloquium for higher education authorities, aimed at discussing institutional and governmental policy in the field.

These results gave rise to the book Calidad en la educación superior: experiencias y perspectivas de Chile y Quebec, Canadá, published by Ediciones IESED-Chile in 2025.
