David G. Miranda

Academic at the Universidad de Playa Ancha, Chile. Pro tempore coordinator of the Consortium Doctorate in Education.

His research addresses contemporary political questions from a social, educational and cultural standpoint, with an interdisciplinary lens. He holds a doctorate in Political Science and a master’s in Contemporary Latin American Studies from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a master’s in Musical Composition with New Technologies from the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (Spain), and degrees in Education and in Musical Sciences and Arts from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (Chile). He has taken part in numerous international forums: the World Congress of Political Science (IPSA), the CELAC-EU Academic Summit and the Ibero-American Conference on International Studies. He has published in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (Spain), the Institut des Amériques (France) and the Universidad de Guadalajara. He is a member of the International Political Science Association. He is currently a researcher at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the Universidad de Playa Ancha (Chile) and coordinator of the Consortium Doctorate in Education (Universidad de Los Lagos / Universidad de Playa Ancha / Universidad de Antofagasta), and leads the creation of the Latin American Network on Education, Politics and Interculturality.

Dr Miranda is pro tempore coordinator of the Consortium Doctorate in Education at the Universidad de Playa Ancha, from where he leads this international engagement initiative. A doctor in Political Science, he has built a distinguished career in the analysis of educational policy with particular emphasis on the Latin American context. His expertise in the impact of public policy in intercultural settings makes him a reference in understanding the political dynamics that run through the region’s education systems. In this project he takes on overall direction and coordination, contributing his deep knowledge of educational policy and his strategic vision for strengthening Latin American academic networks. His dedication as project lead reflects his commitment to building spaces for dialogue and collaboration that reach beyond national borders in education.
