Émilie Doutreloux
Professor in the Department of Foundations and Practices in Education, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Université Laval, Canada. Holder of the Leadership Chair in Teaching on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Education – Banque Nationale.
Researcher in education, mainly on equity, diversity and inclusion, the democratisation of higher education, equality of opportunity, the student experience and international migration linked to requalification. Her work draws on interpretive and participatory approaches oriented towards social transformation and emancipation.
Her work connects research with public policy: she collaborates with research centres, observatories, associations and ministries on access, educational justice and inclusive policy, and sits on the Commission on Teaching and Research at the Collegial Level of Quebec’s Higher Council of Education.
In advanced training, she teaches on the Educational Administration and Policy programmes at the Université Laval and has close to ten years of university teaching on professional postgraduate programmes in education.
Her career combines research with practice in the education system, where she has more than fifteen years of experience: she worked as a social worker with refugee populations and as a pedagogical adviser in the collegial sector, where she drove the development of equity, diversity and inclusion policy in institutions and teaching teams.
