Ricardo Pérez Mora

Research professor and head of the Department of Social Innovation at the Guadalajara University Centre, Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico.

Researcher in higher education, mainly on the sociology of the university, higher education actors and policy, and knowledge production and mobilisation. He coordinates the project «The Social Function of the Academic: an approach through practices and representations», funded by Mexico’s SECIHTI, and was part of the CERI-OECD project «Fostering and Assessing Creativity and Critical Thinking in Education». He is a level III member of the National System of Researchers and holds the PRODEP profile.

His work has international reach: UNESCO invited him to join the group of experts charged with revising the 1997 Recommendation concerning the Status of Higher-Education Teaching Personnel. He coordinates the CLACSO international working group «Politicised Social Science» and is general coordinator of the Network of Studies on Educational Institutions in Mexico.

In scientific communication, he is Coordinating Editor for Spanish-North America of the journal Education Policy Analysis Archives (EPAA) of the University of Arizona and Associate Editor of the UNESCO journal Educación Superior y Sociedad (ESS).
