María Jacqueline Rojas Ríos

Full professor at the Universidad de Playa Ancha, Chile. Researcher and strategic coordinator at IESED-Chile.

Researcher in higher education, mainly on accreditation and quality assurance. She is lead coordinator of project RED 25992, «Internationalisation of Research in Higher Education», and of project «Operation of an Inter-American Network for the Internationalisation of Research in Higher Education and Advanced Training», both aimed at bringing together the research capacity of institutions across the region. She has published widely in the field and has led national and international projects.

Her work in quality assurance has regional reach: she has been engaged as a peer reviewer and foreign expert by the SINAES (Costa Rica) and ANEAES (Paraguay) agencies, and as an assessor by Chile’s National Accreditation Commission (CNA).

In advanced training, she sits on the Academic Council of the Consortium Doctoral Programme in Education of the universities of Playa Ancha, Los Lagos and Antofagasta, on the council and academic core of the Master’s in Management and Leadership of Educational Organisations, and on the academic committee of the Inter-American School of Higher Education (ESIES). She has taught at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Chilean and foreign universities.

Her career combines research with institutional management: she was Director General of the Graduate School, Director General of Research and Institutional Coordinator for state university networking at her own institution, articulating its links with the Chilean state university system.

She holds a doctorate in Education and a master’s in National Policy Management from the Universidad de Playa Ancha, and a degree in social work from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.
